We’re not fooled by slick politicians in Concord.
Granite Staters know the value of our property, and our schools.
We work hard to build a future for our families. We’ve invested more than just money in our homes. We don’t want politicians in Concord to destroy that value with a confusing – and maybe deliberately misleading? – ballot question.
A huge part of our home value is the quality of our schools.
We take pride in educating our children in our history, tradition, and values. When our public schools are under-funded, our property values go down.
Every year we get to ask hard questions and vote on our school budget at Town Meeting Day. And every year we choose to make our children’s and grandchildren’s lives better than ours, even if we have to sacrifice to do it.
Our property taxes are high because New Hampshire is DEAD LAST in the nation for state funding of public schools.
Free Staters and their allies in Concord keep voting to take money from public schools and put it into wasteful vouchers and tax cuts for the rich. They know that this will drive up property taxes for the rest of us.
That’s their plan. They want us to get rid of public schools.
They don’t care that our New Hampshire Constitution says:
Knowledge and learning, generally diffused through a community, being essential to the preservation of a free government; and spreading the opportunities and advantages of education through the various parts of the country, being highly conducive to promote this end; it shall be the duty of the legislators and magistrates, in all future periods of this government, to cherish the interest of literature and the sciences, and all seminaries and public schools…
It’s time for Concord to pay for the cost of a good public education the way our founders intended.
We’re going to tell Concord to DO YOUR DUTY and FUND OUR SCHOOLS.
